RALEIGH, NC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Heavy rains and strong winds caused minor structural damage to the roof of the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, North Carolina on Tuesday night, forcing the postponement of the scheduled Def Leppard, Styx and Foreigner concert.
The concert has been rescheduled for Monday, August 27. All tickets will be honored.
The damage to Walnut Creek’s roof caused water to leak directly to the stage below, prompting venue officials to postpone the event “in the interest of public safety,” according to the Raleigh Times-News.
Strong winds also downed trees in a nearby parking lot, crushing the cars of some concertgoers.
The venue was deemed safe for a concert scheduled for the next night by venue officials, city of Raleight inspectors, Baker Roofing Company and Terracon Structural Engineers. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
