BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Since the fire that burned at the Idaho Youth Ranch Outlet Store and distribution center on July 18th, Idahoans have stepped up to help, with an especially generous offer coming from the Interfaith Sanctuary.
With the distribution center out of commission, Idaho Youth Ranch stores in the Treasure Valley would be unable to accept donations and distribute goods to be sold across Idaho. The Interfaith Sanctuary is letting their building be used in the meantime.
“This will allow us to keep our staff fully employed,” said Scott Curtis, Idaho Youth Ranch CEO. “We can begin accepting donated goods again in our Treasure Valley stores, now that they’ll be able to be processed and sorted, then shipped back out to our stores for sale. The temporary distribution center will be operating during our normal business hours doing this important behind-the-scenes work. We will not be having a retail store, nor will be we accepting donations at this location.”
Curtis continued, “Our stores are such a critical part of our ability to fund the programs of Idaho Youth Ranch...they all rely heavily on the funding provided by our stores. Proceeds from our stores, along with financial gifts from the community, are the backbone of funding that allow us to provide so many critical programs to Idaho youth and families.”
