Kyle Busch has made the long-awaited choice regarding his NASCAR cup future as the veteran decided to call and end to his Toyota days and rejoin the Chevy family he left 15 years ago. Kyle Busch will leave the No:18 Joe Gibbs Racing team and will take over the No:8 Richard Childress Racing team currently driven by Tyler Reddick.

The RCR man will still stay with the team as he is contracted with the team for one more year before making his pre-contracted move to 23X1 Racing. The surprising move made by the youngster raised some eyebrows around the NASCAR community and the move can be considered a retaliation to that contract signing.

Kyle Busch who drove for the TRD top team for more than 15 years securing two championships along with a record of more than 200 wins for the Toyota squad in all three national series, will have a new chapter to write and more trophies to win in the coming days with RCR. The RCR team has also provided Kyle’s son Brexton Busch with a future contract to drive for RCR.

Though he lost the No:8 ride, Tyler Reddick will still race for the RCR crew in a third charter of the team that will be introduced from the 2023 season. The move made by Kyle Busch has trophy hunting written all over it. The RCR team is in the right state to secure some trophies from 2022 as they already have three win’s this season.

How NASCAR Twitter reacted to Kyle Busch move

Though NASCAR community was aware of the move after the news of his move was broken by the Athletic couple of days before. But him taking over the No:8 car surely took the fans by storm as they went into Twitter to express their opinions on the move.

Pondering: Wonder what those @KyleBusch haters that love the No. 8, even maybe have a tattoo of the No. 8, are thinking of today's announcement he will drive that number for @RCRracing#nascar

Congratulations Kyle and family! I am excited about your future with RCR. You just moved up 10 spots going from 18 to 8 😁. I am relatively new to Nascar since I had never watched a race before I met my fella almost 9 years ago. Would anyone out there like to buy my Tacoma?

Kyle Busch officially joining @RCRracing in 2023 and he will be driving the #8. Some questions were answered as Childress said Reddick is under contract for next season. Kyle Busch didn’t give away any details but KBM will be making the swap to Chevrolet. #NASCAR

What exactly did he pull? He gave RC over a year to fill the seat…and hes gonna run the 3rd team next year.

Joe Gibbs just dropped the ball and kicked it off the Grand Canyon. How do you not keep one of if not your best driver?

— Jon Wolfe 🏳️‍🌈 (@Lycan_Jedi) September 13, 2022

I guess @DaleJr Was right now the only thing is did he do it on purpose because his announcement got spoiled.

— Zachary_clark (@Zachary_N_Clark) September 13, 2022

Insult to Dale Jr putting that cry baby in his old car number

— Sue (@nascargirl0197) September 13, 2022

As someone who works at a Toyota dealership and has been a lifelong Kyle Busch fan you guys dropped the ball. There’s no reason why he should be leaving your manufacturer.

— Russ (@Russm2002) September 13, 2022

Committed to 3 chartered teams but unwilling to comment about a 3rd charter… I'm willing to bet RCR wouldn't pay the asking price for one year of Reddick, and not have a plan for it after. It's gotta be a buy and flip or no charter at all.

The end of Trump is 90 DAYS or less! Can't wait for Trump's lawyers to ask for a deal. Bigger news is Kyle Busch comes to Welcome,N.C. and RCR RACING.#8

— Donald Goodine (@DonaldGoodine3) September 13, 2022

It has been Austin’s number since he was racing late models….and it was actually RC’s number long before all this…who cares??….let’s race!

— Greg Horvath (@GregHo3) September 13, 2022

Reddick tem muito potencial e futuro. Certamente ainda será campeão. KB está nitidamente em curva descendente. E é bem mais barato. Ganhou a Toyota.

— Walter Ribeiro (@WalterRibeiro20) September 13, 2022

I can’t believe he left. The money must have been insane to entice him to jump ship. But Kyle is the man, he wins in everything he drives, I’m sure this will be no different.

— Eric Brewer (@EricBre54433336) September 13, 2022

Idiots. I can’t believe Kyle Busch won’t be in a Toyota anymore. They lost their best driver historically & a truck series owner who develops all their young talent for what? TRD is gonna suffer from this domino. https://t.co/KAh5kRyOCh

— Blake Trexler (@Btrex1720) September 13, 2022

KB wish most Toyota wins in cup and let him go 😂😂 wild to say the least. Golden boy is up to bait in the 18 will see how this goes
