Can You Go Back One Day in Stardew Valley? [Answered]

Stardew Valley features an autosave feature where if you progress to the next day, you are unable to go back. Unlike games like Pokemon, where you could save before fighting a legendary and restart the save file to keep trying until you catch it, Stardew Valley makes things a bit more complicated.

How to Restore Save Files in Stardew Valley On PC

To restore saved files and go back one day, you will need to navigate into the game’s saved files. Here’s what you’ll need to do, step by step.

  • Close Stardew Valley.
  • On your desktop, click Windows + R and type “%appdata%\StardewValley\Saves”. (or “%localappdata%\Packages\ConcernedApe.StardewValleyPC_0c8vynj4cqe4e\LocalCache\Roaming\StardewValley\Saves” if on Xbox App)
  • Open the folder named after your character of the playthrough you want to roll back.
  • Before proceeding forward, make a backup copy of the entire character folder. This is just in case you end up regretting your decision.
  • Open the SaveGameInfo_old file with Notepad and copy all the text inside it.
  • Open the SaveGameInfo file with Notepad, delete all the text inside and paste the previously copied text. (in short, replace the text in SaveGameInfo with the text from SaveGameInfo_old).
  • Repeat the same thing with the two TEST files – copy the files from the old TEST into the current TEST.
  • Launch Stardew Valley and you’ll notice that you went one day back in the calendar.
  • How to Restore Save Files in Stardew Valley On Other Platforms

    • Android – Open File Explorer (or download any file explorer from the app store) and navigate to Android/data/com.chucklefish.stardewvalley/files/saves. Then, the saves are in the JonSnow_123456789 format.
